On Saturday, May 23rd, Fernando Nuñez's film "My Life in Puzzle Pieces" was named the Best Autobiography at the 2026 California Student Media Festival held at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.

The DMAA Student of the Week for 5/25-5/31 is Tyler Song. Tyler Song has been in the Digital Media Arts Academy in the photography pathway all 4 years of high school. This week’s featured artist is someone who consistently demonstrates what it means to grow as a creative. Abby approaches every project with enthusiasm and an eagerness to push beyond her comfort zone, never settling, always evolving. Her willingness to tackle new techniques and challenges head-on is a quality that sets her apart, and the results speak for themselves.
