HAWK TALK NAMED BEST BROADCAST!

El Dorado's weekly school news show, HAWK TALK, was just named the BEST HIGH SCHOOL BROADCAST in Orange County at the 2019 Orange County Film Festival. The festival was held this past Friday, January 4, 2019 at Northwood High School in Irvine. The award for BEST BROADCAST was presented to Hawk Talk's Student News Director, Joeli Schwartz '19, who accepted the award on behalf of her class. This is the 3rd time overall that Hawk Talk has won the award for Best Broadcast at the OCFF, and our 11th overall nomination for the award over the past 13 years.

El Dorado students received 6 other award nominations at the 16th annual event, put on by FilmED Academy of the Arts. The short film, TABULA RASA, by Brian Powers '18 and Emily Henderson '18 was nominated for BEST SHORT FILM, BEST PRODUCER (Emily Henderson), BEST ACTOR (Alex Long), and BEST STORY (Brian Powers). Kish '19 was nominated for BEST SPOT FEATURE and BEST DOCUMENTARY STORY. ECHOLOCATION appeared on Hawk Talk in November, 2018.
