DMAA Student Wins Grand Prize in CTIA Drive Smart Now Video Contest

A Representative from the CTIA Wireless Foundation was on campus today to present the Grand Prize award in the Drive Smart: No Distractions, No Excuses, Teen Digital Short Film Contest. Their representative flew in from Washington D.C. to present the award.

This year’s grand prize winner is Digital Media Arts Academy freshman, Zach Cooper. Zach’s prize is $10,000 and his video is now featured on their website and on YouTube. (Last year’s winning video has over 500,000 views.) Zach’s video was chosen from over 500 other entries from high school students of all ages throughout the U.S., and the video was made as part of a class assignment his Media Production class had back in December. Zach’s family, his 3rd period classmates, representatives from PYLUSD, his former middle school video teacher Paola Hellwig from Travis Ranch, and El Dorado’s administrators all joined in to help honor Zach on his achievement.
