"Passionfruit" Wins Audience Award at NFFTY
The DMAA produced documentary film, "Passionfruit" was named an Audience Award winner in the Stories of Us Category at the prestigious NFFTY Film Festival in Seattle, WA. (National Film Festival for Talented Youth) NFFTY bills itself as the largest youth film festival in the world, with over 200 films being screened over 4 days. The Stories of Us category is described by NFFTY as, “the real stories and the peculiar, poignant lives that people live.” "Passionfruit" was produced, filmed and edited jointly by Ashley Martinez '18 and Caleb Garrett '17.
"Passionfruit" is a cinematic documentary about Roland Vom Dorp, an avocado farmer, environmental activist, and lover of the planet whose passion is trialed when he is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
