So, first of all, nobody needs to spend any money to be part of El Dorado's Digital Media Arts Academy. Our classes are well equipped and students have tons of opportunities to learn using the latest and best equipment in our classrooms. But, I always get questions from parents and students about video cameras, computers and other gear, so here are a few ideas. If you are looking for more economical camera alternatives (under $600) I recommend using your phone's camera. Seriously - don't waste your money. Your smartphone's camera is better than cameras costing hundreds of dollars, so you really can't justify the expense until you get to that mid level - interchangable lens - price range

PTSA Reflections Winner!

Congratulations to DMAA sophomore Alexander Avila! His Reflections Film entry placed first place in our school district (the Council level) and will compete on the Fourth District Level of Competition. Alexander's film will be featured with the other high school entries from Orange County and parts of Los Angeles. The first place entries at the Fourth District level will move forward to compete on the State level, this information will be given at the Gallery and Reception. The 24 Hour Film Festival

Warning: Video contains mature themes. On December 5-6, 20 El Dorado Advanced Video students took part in the annual FilmED Academy of the Arts 24 Hour Music Video Film Festival. The students were faced wth the difficult challenge of creating an entire 4 minute music video starting at 3pm on the 5th and uploading their completed video by 3pm on the 6th. This year's Song was "Blame It On Me" by George Ezra. The production was led by, and almost entirely crewed by DMAA students in the video program at El Dorado High School. Exposed: Beyond Imagination Art Competition

Congratulations to this year's Exposed: Beyond Imagination Art Competition winners! We had 14 EDHS Photography students have their work displayed in this year's competition at the Yorba Linda Public Library, and 5 of them received awards! All-in-all, 12 of the 14 finalists, and all 5 winners are part of El Dorado’s Digital Media Arts Academy! Madison Rossetti (DMAA ’16) received 3rd place for her Graphic Design piece, "Floating Into Thin Air." Sally Chew (DMAA ’17) received Best in Show for her Photography piece, "Sense of Exploration."
