The El Dorado Film Festival is this Friday

The 13th Annual EL DORADO FILM FESTIVAL will be held this Friday evening (April 29th) here on campus at the Performing Arts Center. The red carpet receptions begins at 6pm just outside the PAC doors and features the talented performing group THE KYLE REED EXPERIENCE as entertainment. Doors open at 6:45 and the show is scheduled to start promptly at 7pm. We expect the show to last a little over 2 hours with a short intermission. We had over 70 entries this year - only the top films in each category will be screened. Admission is free, but $5 donations are suggested to help support our film programs here at EDHS. DMAA Students Finalists for OC Filmmaker of the Year

DMAA students Katie Ann O’Keefe ‘16 and Caleb Garrett ‘17 have been named as finalists by The OC Register’s Varsity Arts, Artist of the Year program, in the category of filmmaking. Filmmakers include those who work as directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, writers and animators on fiction films, nonfiction/documentaries and animation. The winner will be announced in the May 1 edition of Varsity Arts. El Dorado Film Festival Entries Due

Be sure to enter all of your best video work from this year into the 2016 El Dorado Film Festival. ENTRIES ARE DUE ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13th. All entries need to be submitted via our FILMFREEWAY online account at: https://filmfreeway.com/festival/EDHSFilmFestival It is free to enter. Categories include: Short Film, Documentary, Spot-Feature (News), Commercial, PSA, Experimental, Animation, and Poetic Convergence. Poetic Convergence entries once again have a top prize of $100 for each grade level. The 13th annual El Dorado Film Festival will be held in the Performing Arts Center on the campus of El Dorado High School at 7pm on Friday, April 29th. Admission is free.

Hawk Talk Named Best Broadcast in Orange County

El Dorado High School's weekly school broadcast, Hawk Talk, was named Best Broadcast for 2015-2016 at the Orange County Film Festival on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016. Most of the class was in attendance Saturday night, and News Director Caleb Garrett accepted the award on their behalf.
